چکیده
With the purpose of identifying characteristics variation in fruit size and seed production (potential efficiency) Cedrela odorata L. between sites progenies established ejido La Balsa, municipality Emiliano Zapata, Veracruz, fruits were harvested from 20 trees February 2013, preserving identity each one. Fruit length width measured, was extracted developed aborted seeds counted to calculate Seed Production Potential (SPP) Efficiency (SE). The results showed significant differences for sites. mean values found were: 32.52 mm (fruit length), 18.73 width), 39.9 per 57.51% this species its use should be selected taking into account crops outstanding individual trees, addition, due current regulatory restrictions on collection, establishment trials plantations germplasm is a viable option forest management species.

Current and Future Distribution of the Tropical Tree Cedrela odorata L. in Mexico under Climate Change Scenarios Using MaxLike
Climate change is recognized as an important threat to global biodiversity because it increases the risk of extinction of many species on the planet. Mexico is a megadiverse country and native tree species such as red cedar (Cedrela odorata) can be used to maintain forests while helping mitigate climate change, because it is considered a fast growing pioneer species with great economic potentia...

Cedrela odorata (Meliaceae) is considered as one of the most valuable forest tree in the tropics. Clonal propagation of this species provide an alternative method to propagate superior genotypes, being the production of good quality adventitious roots one of the most important steps in micropropagation techniques. The sequence of anatomical changes that takes place during the formation of adven...
متن کاملChloroplast DNA phylogeography reveals colonization history of a Neotropical tree, Cedrela odorata L., in Mesoamerica.
Spanish Cedar (Cedrela odorata L.) is a globally important timber species which has been severely exploited in Mesoamerica for over 200 years. Using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms, its chloroplast (cp) DNA phylogeography was studied in Mesoamerica with samples from 29 populations in six countries. Five haplotypes were characterized, phylogenetically grouped ...
متن کاملPharmacological and Genotoxic Properties of Polyphenolic Extracts of Cedrela odorata L. and Juglans regia L. Barks in Rodents
Evaluation of the phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of Cedrela odorata L. and Juglans regia L. bark extracts was performed in vitro. Juglans regia showed greater extract concentration and higher antioxidant activity. Hypoglycemic activity in rats was assessed by generating a glucose tolerance curve and determining the area under the curve (AUC). Diabetes was later induced by an inject...
متن کاملTuberculosis epidemiology and control in Veracruz, Mexico.
BACKGROUND Tuberculosis (TB) rates remain high in regions of Southern Mexico despite the existence of a National Tuberculosis Program. Understanding TB epidemiology in such settings would assist in the design of improved TB control and highlight the challenges confronting TB control in developing countries. METHODS We conducted a retrospective review of treatment control cards from 1991 to 19...
